A QUINCEAÑERA CELEBRATION ON THE BEACH IN CANCÚN, QUINTANA ROO, MEXICO | CELINE

Planning a Quinceañera is a monumental task, especially if it's for someone you really love. A Quinceañera is a traditional Latin American celebration marking a girl's transition from childhood to womanhood. Similar to a Sweet 16, a Quinceañera is celebrated on a girl's 15th birthday. Some families choose to throw a big party while others eliminate certain traditions and religious customs, making the occasion more intimate and sweet! In today's blog post, we honor my niece Celine; who celebrated her Quinceañera on the beach in Cancún, Mexico with her immediate family! Thoughtfully and lovingly planned out by her mother and my dear sister-in-law Yeimi; Yeimi started organizing Celine's Quinceañera by taking into account the color scheme: rose gold, amber, ivory, and peach! Rose gold has become a popular color among Quinceañera's, as its adored for it's warm pinkish hue and the unique color combination of pure gold, copper, and tinges of silver; giving off a very elegant and feminine touch to things. Knowing that this was a once-in-a-lifetime event, marking a meaningful milestone in Celine's life, Yeimi set out to make Celine look and feel like royalty! Together they chose the perfect dress with the most gorgeous silhouette which I imagine was both exciting and overwhelming! Keeping in mind that a Quinceañera dress is more than just an outfit; Yeimi made sure it was a symbol of Celine's journey into adulthood. Celine's parents are all about the importance of trying new things; such as flying on a plane which is a rite of passage and making memories together as a family. Therefore, they hopped on a plane and jetted off to Mexico for this outing! Lastly, every girl entering into womanhood needs a bit of bling so, I took care of Celine with some accessories! There I was, with a scepter in hand, long and flowy velvet ribbons, gorgeous rhinestones, and flowers to spoil our QUEEN! 👑 🙌 Did you know that there are many blossoms that symbolize women—each with it's own unique traits and meanings? Celine is the {definition} of B E A U T Y and grace and I couldn't imagine a better way to celebrate these qualities in her than with the language of flowers. From elegant fillers to passionate florals, I chose roses for Celine because roses embody the power and strength of femininity. Roses are often given to women on special occasions such as weddings and birthdays. Today, they continue to be a popular flower for women, as they are gifted to show love, appreciation, or admiration. Not only do I adore my niece but I have much respect for her and her drive to chase her dreams! My husband and I are so proud of all that she has accomplished, while maintaining good grades, keeping a positive attitude, and striving to always do great things!

Happy 15th Birthday sweetie! Love, Tia Loreta"

INSPIRATION BEHIND CELINE'S BIRTHDAY

"The inspiration behind Celine's flowers came to mind when I saw her dress. It had gorgeous undertones, and sandy colors. I knew she was going to celebrate her birthday on the beach, so I wanted to bring pieces of our New England beaches to her. Since it was our princesses Quinceañera, she deserved nothing but the best! The ONLY bouquet that came to mind for this special occasion, was a scepter bouquet. I wanted Celine to feel like a Queen! My thought process behind the flowers was to utilize florals that would last a lifetime. Therefore, I opted for preserved flowers to freeze the moment in time. Lastly, I like to challenge myself and create new things. I have quite the list of bouquets that I would like to make and a scepter was at the top of my list. It's a bouquet that you don't see often and I thought it would be a nice added touch to my growing portfolio. A scepter {sceptre} is a rod or staff held in the hand of a ruling monarch which serves as an item of royalty or imperial insignia. Celine was the definition of royalty that day! Not only did the bouquet complement her but she looked beautiful too!" -Loreta Daka

specialty flowers and fillers that were utilized in these birthday arrangements were betula pendula dried apricot, rosa preserved white, dried schinus pepperberry, preserved peach garden roses, seashells, and abalone

I hope you enjoyed this Quinceañera celebration on the beach in Cancún, Mexico. Do you know Celine? Show the birthday girl some love, by giving this post a 'Heart' in the section below!
